ARTour Prescott-Russell does more than talk about supporting young artists: it annually awards $500 scholarships to talented Prescott-Russell students pursuing post-secondary studies in a visual or graphic arts program. Not only do the recipients gain financially, they are invited to exhibit their work and be matched with one of the visual artists from the region participating in the Prescott-Russell Art & Studio Tour on September 30 and October 1, 2017
Winners of 2017 Young Artists Scholarships:
Nicholas McKenzie, from St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic High School in Russell, will attend the Pre-Animation Program at Algonquin College.
Joshua Stewart, from Vankleek Hill Collegiate Institute, will attend the Fine Arts Program at Concordia University.
Who is eligible for the Young Artists Scholarships ?
Grade 12 students studying and/or residing in Prescott-Russell, who will be registering to a full-time program in an artistic discipline at the post-secondary level (college or university) in September 2017 may apply for the Young Artists Scholarships.
What must the candidates submit?
Print and complete the PDF Registration Form below. Send the questionnaire in with your submission to the address below.
You must present five (5) original works of art in the medium of your choice: drawing, painting, sculpture, photography or any other form of visual arts. For projects in three dimensions (i.e. sculpture), please present different points of view. No copy or reproduction of another artist’s work will be accepted.
*The photographs of your five (5) art pieces must be in JPEG format, high resolution (minimum 300 dpi), minimum size 4 x 5 inches to ensure high quality pictures for our publicity material. They can be saved on CD and sent by mail with your registration or by email to email@example.com.
You must include a letter of recommendation from a teacher or someone who knows your artwork and supports your scholarship application.

Your application must be mailed in or emailed before 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 30, 2017. Please note that only complete applications stamped on or before the date mentioned above will be accepted.
A jury of ARTour members or collaborators will select the scholarships recipients. The finalists will be informed by May 31, 2017.
However, the recipient will receive the bursary only upon receipt by the ARTour Committee of a proof of payment of their 2017-2018 tuition fees.
The ARTour Committee also requests that the scholarship recipients be available during the ARTour weekend on September 30 and October 1st, 2017. The deserving young artists will be matched with a participating artist and will be invited to exhibit their work on ARTour weekend and also have their artwork featured on the ARTour website.
